Beethoven Around the World
The genesis of Beethoven Around the World started in 2014 when Quatuor Ébène was invited to perform the complete Beethoven quartets at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2020, the composer’s 250th jubilee year.
This invitation engendered the idea of playing Beethoven not just in New York, but around the world for – as the Ode to Joy says –
all humanity.

The USA tour is supported by the cultural services of the French Embassy in the United States.
Quatuor Ébène is the Ambassador of Beethoven 2020 Foundation.
Air France is a partener of Beethoven around the world for carbon offset programme devoted to reforestation.

The closing concert of Beethoven live @round the world, on January 27th 2019 in the Philharmonie de Paris, received the patronage de la Commission nationale française de l'UNESCO.
